Distri Boch – Mugs – Copenhagen Style Pattern – 9 cm x 8 cm

The Boch Frères La Louvière manufacture was founded in 1841 and became one of the leading names in European ceramics.

During the 1970s–1990s, it developed a wide range of accessible collections and commercial collaborations.

These mugs are characteristic of this later period: everyday, democratic objects designed for daily use.

They were promotional items, notably distributed in SECA petrol stations (Belgium) in the 1980s–1990s, often obtained through loyalty programs.

This mug was produced by Distri Boch, a distribution branch linked to Boch Frères La Louvière, and bears the mark SECA England, indicating production or collaboration intended for the international market.

They are therefore everyday objects… but also witnesses of a particular era.

The pattern: “Copenhagen style”

It is characterized by a cobalt blue decoration on a white background, composed of graphic motifs inspired by European decorative traditions:

— simplified arabesques
— delicate dotted elements
— flowing lines forming a refined ornamental language

The design, both structured and free, recalls certain Delft influences while remaining rooted in a more contemporary aesthetic.

The cylindrical shape, stable and generous, makes it a practical everyday piece, comfortable to hold.
