Boch - Bread Plate

Function
This is a bread plate. These small plates were designed to accompany the main table service and to hold an individual piece of bread.

Design
The decoration is typical of the aesthetic of the 1970s, with its wide circular bands of contrasting colours — here a deep chocolate brown and a warm orange.

Typography
The word “Pain” (French for bread) is written in an old-style cursive calligraphy with decorative flourishes, creating a blend of retro elegance and the modern design language of the period.

This model often belongs to a broader range in which each piece is identified by its function (for example, spice jars or dishes labelled “Sucre”, “Farine”, or “Sel”).

The brown and orange colour palette is a characteristic chromatic signature of the late 1960s and early 1970s in Boch production.
