What is Atelier HaruFuyu?

A sensitive dialogue between Belgian heritage and Japanese aesthetics

Founded in Brussels in 2025, Atelier HaruFuyu is a cultural and entrepreneurial initiative born from the desire to create a discreet, respectful and living dialogue between Belgian artisanal heritage and Japanese sensibility.

The name "HaruFuyu" comes from the Japanese language for the following seasons:

  • Haru (春): Spring - a symbol of renewal and hope
  • Fuyu (冬): Winter - a season of memory and quietness

These two seasons embody the project’s mission: to give new life to antique objects and reintegrate them into a new cycle.

More than a business dedicated to antique objects, Atelier HaruFuyu is a practice of transmission, connection and contemplation: a dialogue between two cultures, between history and the present, and between each object and the person who welcomes it.

Objects

Objects chosen for their presence and balance

Atelier HaruFuyu carefully selects antique objects from emblematic Belgian manufacturers — ceramic, glassware, crystal, lace and decorative pieces — chosen for their artisanal quality, understated elegance and aesthetic coherence.

The objects offered are in very good condition. Some may display subtle traces of time, discreet and fully embraced, which testify to their life and contribute to their character, without ever affecting their use or beauty.

Each object is accompanied by:

  • information about its origin and context;
  • a sensitive narrative highlighting its use, materiality and presence;
  • particular care given to its presentation and transmission.

Events

Small-scale cultural experiences

Atelier HaruFuyu unfolds through an online presence as well as through intimate cultural encounters, conceived as suspended moments, on a human scale, encouraging exchange and contemplation.

These experiences may take the form of:

  • workshops centred around tea, Japanese-inspired floral art, Belgian chocolate, or other cultural themes related to craftsmanship, gestures and the aesthetics of everyday life;
  • occasional presentations, events, pop-ups or collaborations;
  • cultural encounters where objects become supports for dialogue between gestures, materials and narratives.

During these moments, the objects are staged with restraint and intention, and may, at their conclusion, be offered for acquisition as a sensitive extension of the experience lived.
