Tea, Wagashi, Two Cultures

Tea, Wagashi, Two Cultures

Tea ceremony, wagashi making and a hands-on matcha workshop

With Yuko Takaoka, tea master of the Urasenke school of Kyoto, joining us from Paris

Yuko TakaokaA bowl of tea, a Japanese sweet, a Belgian object with a story to tell… Atelier HaruFuyu invites you to discover a meeting of Japanese traditions and Belgian craftsmanship.

A unique encounter: antic pieces from Belgian manufacturers find their place at the heart of the Japanese tea ceremony.

In the intimate setting of De Ultieme Hallucinatie, Yuko Takaoka will guide you through three complementary experiences: discovering the Japanese tea ceremony through a demonstration with explanations, making two wagashis — the delicate Japanese sweets traditionally served with tea — and learning to prepare and taste your own matcha.

Each session welcomes just ten participants, allowing time for hands-on learning, questions and conversation. During the breaks, explore a selection of vintage Belgian objects curated by Atelier HaruFuyu, bringing Belgian heritage into dialogue with Japanese aesthetics. These pieces will also be available to purchase.

To carry the experience home, your participation includes a vintage Belgian piece specially selected for the occasion by Atelier HaruFuyu.
