Boch Frères La Louvière - Landscape with cows - 20 cm
This decorative plate was produced by Boch Frères La Louvière, one of Belgium’s historic ceramic manufactures.
Its blue decoration belongs to the tradition often called “Delft Blue,” inspired by pastoral Dutch landscapes — windmills, churches, quiet waters, and grazing animals.
During the 20th century, especially in the 1960s and 1970s, Boch created many variations of these decorative wall plates. They were meant to bring a quiet landscape into the home.
The reverse usually bears the manufacture's mark “Boch Belgium” or “Boch Frères La Louvière.” Some export pieces also carry the name “Delfts” or a distributor’s label such as “Golden Crown.”
A quiet blue
Water at rest.
Cows grazing slowly.
A church steeple rising in the distance.
On this plate, blue becomes a landscape.
At Atelier HaruFuyu, we are drawn to objects that carry quiet stories.
Objects shaped by hands,
time,
and everyday life.
They remind us that beauty often lives in small things —
in a plate,
in a pattern,
in a moment of stillness.
A piece of Belgian memory,
seen through a Japanese gaze.
